Day with Kai

I spent the day with Kai. It was a really good day. We didn't do much of anything. We played tennis, we played some games in the house, we played some ball out in the street, and we went shopping. Really a mundane day if you look at the activities, but it was a special day. Need to spend some time like that with Hana too.

Monterey Bay

Hana and Kai had was on spring break this week, and so I took some time off and we spent a night in Monterey. The first day, we took a boat ride with Elkhorn Slough Safari. It was an enjoyable ride - seeing everything from Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, to Otters. The kids really enjoyed seeing all of those animals. We got to see baby seals that were probably born that day. We also saw a baby otter riding on the mother's stomach as well as an otter cracking open a clam. The only drawback to this trip is the price - which was a bit steep. Good thing I went on this trip with the decision to ignore costs for a couple of days. The trip was not just the kids spring break - it was also our wedding anniversary - so I was intent on enjoying the trip without worrying about unnecessary issues.

The second day was spent at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I've been their a number of times before, but I still enjoy it. It truly is a great aquarium. I especially enjoy the jellyfish.
